Orthodontic Insurance for Adult Braces.

I am looking to save money of orthodontic care.  I willing to buy a dental discount plan if it really helps to save money on adult braces.  I had my current dental insurance plan though work and it does help me with my basic dental care needs but I am wanting my teeth to be straighten.  I am finding out most dental insurance plans do not provide coverages for adult braces and the ones that do are too costly and have long waiting periods.  How can I make sure I am getting the saving under a dental discount plan?
